There are 31 volumes, although the last volume isn’t visible in the picture, it is present in my library. They were published in France by H. Lamirault and later by the Sociéte Anonyme de la Grande Encyclopedie. It contains about 15 000 engravings and many maps.
The books were published as follows: 1-2: 1886, 3-4: 1887, 4: 1887, 5-6: 1888, 7-8: 1889, 8: 1889, 9-11: 1890, 12-13: 1891, 14-16: 1892, 17-18: 1893, 19-20: 1894, 21: 1895, 22: 1896, 23: 1898, 24-26: 1899, 27-8: 1900, 29-30: 1901, 31: 1902.

Sunt 31 de volume, cu toate ca in poze nu se vede ultimul volum ce este totusi present in colectie. Au fost publicate in Franta, de H. Lamirault si mai tarziu de Societe Anonyme de la Grande Encyclopedie. Contine aproximativ 15 000 gravuri si foarte multe harti. Cartile sunt publicate astfel: 1-2: 1886, 3-4: 1887, 4: 1887, 5-6: 1888, 7-8: 1889, 8: 1889, 9-11: 1890, 12-13: 1891, 14-16: 1892, 17-18: 1893, 19-20: 1894, 21: 1895, 22: 1896, 23: 1898, 24-26: 1899, 27-8: 1900, 29-30: 1901, 31: 1902.

This is the first edition of the encyclopedia. The books are in good condition, with beautiful covers and spine. Two volumes have broken spines, but the rest are intact.

There are 12 volumes with numerous engravings covering almost every field, illustrating personalities, landscapes, traditions, races of man and their national costumes with their habits, animals (reptiles, birds, fish and mammals), plants, insects, architecture, engineering, astronomy, pages with signatures, seals, emblems, crowns, also a lot of folded colored maps and small single page maps.
