This map is taken from the 1683's french edition of the "Description de l'Univers", one of the earliest printed miniature, illustrated world history/geography books. It illustrates Transylvania, Walachia, Moldavia and a part of Hungary, with a lot of important city names.

Aceasta harta este luata din editia franceza de la 1683 a cartii "Description de l'Univers", una din primele carti miniaturi de geografie si istorie ilustrate . Aceasta arata Transilvania, Valahia, Moldova si o parte a Ungariei, impreuna cu numele oraselor importante de pe teritoriul acestora.

The actual engraving has 33,8 x 25,2 cm. It is taken from an edition of Munster’s Cosmographiae Universalis printed in Basel in 1578 by Henrich Petri.
It is hand-colored with beautiful castle drawings, very well preserved.

Gravura propriu-zisa are 33,8 x 25,2 cm. Este luata din editia de la 1578 a Cosmografiei Universale a lui Munster, editata de Henrich Petri in Basel.
Gravura este colorata manual si foarte bine pastrata.

Historische Beschreibung, darinnen enthalten alles, was sich bey vorgenommenen Beläger- und Eroberungen der Stäte, Vestungen und Schlösser, dessgleichen in veranlassten Schlachten und vorgelauffenen Scharmützeln …." printed in Nurnberg in 1665 by Paul Fürsten.

The actual size of the engravin is 18,3 x 12,5 cm.

On the other engraving I have with this famous Voivode I’ve mentioned about the engraver, Johann Siebmacher. This engraving also hand colored, and it is noticeably different in this edition printed by Paul Fürsten.

Este o revista saptamanala de cultura, aparuta la Brasov de la 2 ianuarie la 25 decembrie 1837, redactata de I. Barac. Este prima revista literara aparuta in Transilvania, conceputa sub forma de magazin, si subventionata de negustorii brasoveni Rudolf Orghidan si Dimitrie Marin. Caracterele sunt semichirilice, tiparite in tipografia lui Johan Gott.
De la numarul 8 isi ia numele de “Foae de Dumineca”.

This is a cultural weekly magazine, printed in Brasov since 2nd of January until 25th of December 1837, edited by I. Barac. It is the first literature magazine appeared in Transylvania, conceived under this magazine layout and sponsored by the Brasovian merchantsRudolf Orghidan and Dimitrie Marin. The characters are semi-Cyrillic, printed in the print shop of Johan Gott.
From the 8th number, the magazine takes the name of “Foae de Duminica” (Leaf of Sunday)

There are 31 volumes, although the last volume isn’t visible in the picture, it is present in my library. They were published in France by H. Lamirault and later by the Sociéte Anonyme de la Grande Encyclopedie. It contains about 15 000 engravings and many maps.
The books were published as follows: 1-2: 1886, 3-4: 1887, 4: 1887, 5-6: 1888, 7-8: 1889, 8: 1889, 9-11: 1890, 12-13: 1891, 14-16: 1892, 17-18: 1893, 19-20: 1894, 21: 1895, 22: 1896, 23: 1898, 24-26: 1899, 27-8: 1900, 29-30: 1901, 31: 1902.

Sunt 31 de volume, cu toate ca in poze nu se vede ultimul volum ce este totusi present in colectie. Au fost publicate in Franta, de H. Lamirault si mai tarziu de Societe Anonyme de la Grande Encyclopedie. Contine aproximativ 15 000 gravuri si foarte multe harti. Cartile sunt publicate astfel: 1-2: 1886, 3-4: 1887, 4: 1887, 5-6: 1888, 7-8: 1889, 8: 1889, 9-11: 1890, 12-13: 1891, 14-16: 1892, 17-18: 1893, 19-20: 1894, 21: 1895, 22: 1896, 23: 1898, 24-26: 1899, 27-8: 1900, 29-30: 1901, 31: 1902.

Cartea este tiparita in anul 7251 (de la facerea lumii, adica 1743) in Bucuresti, si legata de Petrache Ivanichi, Episcop la Manastirea Caldarusani, la 10 aprilie 1877. Caracterele sunt chirilice. Cartea a fost gasita la biserica din Cioranii de Jos, judetul Prahova.
Neofit de la Creta mai este numit si Neofit Cretanul.

The book is a Pentecostarion, printed in the year 7251 from the forging of the World (meaning the year 1743) in Bucharest, in the dais of Voivode Mihai Racovita, at the expense of Neofit from Crete, and tied by Petrache Ivanichi, Bishop at Caldarusani Monastery, on 10th of April 1877. The fonts are Cyrillic. The book was found at the church of Cioranii de Jos, in Prahova county.

These are 3 books divided in 6 volumes, but complete, with continuous pagination. The date isn’t written, but all the references I’ve found about these books state 1854 or 1854-1856. There are many engravings with battle scenes and important figures, maps and maps with tactical plans.
Written on every volume, in the beginning is “Cynthia A. Stuart, 1860, Waterloo”.

Sunt 3 carti divizate in 6 volume, complete, cu paginatia continua. Data nu este notata, dar toate referintele pe care le-am gasit despre aceste carti arata anul 1854 sau 1854-1856. Sunt multe gravuri cu scene de batalie si cu personaje importante, harti geografice si harti cu planuri tactice.
La inceputul fiecarui volum este notat “Cynthia A. Stuart, 1860, Waterloo”.

Works of Lapide

These are 19 folio books of Lapide works, bound in 8 volumes by a collector probably in the late 17th or the early 18th century. The spine is leather and the covers are cardboard. They are pretty chaotically bound, as the numbers on the spines doesn’t match the chronology of the books.

Sunt 19 carti cu lucrarile lui Lapide in folio, in 8 volume, legate de un colectionar probabil pe la sfarsitul secolului XVII sau inceputul secolului XVIII. Cotorul este din piele iar copertile sunt din carton gros. Sunt legate haotic deoarece numarele de pe cotoare nu se potrivesc cu cronologia cartilor.

There are 31 volumes, with 26 volumes of animal natural history and 5 of minerals and plants natural history. Most of the engravings in the first volumes were cut for individual selling, but the rest of them are present and well preserved.

Sunt 31 de volume, cu 26 de volume continand istoria naturala a animalelor si 5 cu istoria naturala a plantelor si mineralelor. Majoritatea gravurilor din primul volum au fost taiate, probabil cu scopul vanzarii individuale, dar restul sunt prezente si bine intretinute.
